Gang awareness and prevention through education, mentoring, and community connection.

Every young person deserves to be seen for more than a difficult moment. The Gang Awareness and Prevention Program (G.A.P.P.) from 1st Source Defense, LLC brings youth, families, and community partners together to address challenges early and support a positive path forward.

Through mentoring, restorative approaches, school engagement, and community service, G.A.P.P. helps participants recognize their strengths and build connections with people who support their growth. The program welcomes young people with a range of experiences, including attendance or behavioral challenges, family transitions, or a return home after time in a juvenile facility. It also welcomes youth who would benefit from guidance and opportunities to contribute.

We work with parents and community groups and welcome conversations with schools, courts, probation teams, and other youth-serving partners about possible referrals. When a referral arrangement is established, intake information and progress updates can help keep a participant’s support team informed. School resource officers and other law enforcement partners can also use the program to support youth-focused educational instruction in schools.
