ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING (COMMUNITY EDITION)
Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events
Service Description
Preparation can help people make decisions during a frightening emergency. This training introduces civilians to recognizing potential danger, considering their options, and planning how to respond in the places where they work, learn, and gather. Participants also discuss what to expect from emergency responders and why support after an incident matters. Most people hope they will never face an active shooter event. Knowing your surroundings and thinking through an emergency plan ahead of time can help you respond more purposefully if one occurs. This 1st Source Defense, LLC program is designed for community members, workplaces, schools, and organizations that want to strengthen civilian preparedness. It explores how people may react under stress, why recognizing a threat can take time, and how planning and practice can support quicker decisions. Participants will consider questions they can apply to their own settings: How would I recognize that something is wrong? What exits and safe options are available? How would I communicate with others and follow directions from arriving responders? The training also acknowledges the emotional impact of a crisis and the importance of support afterward. The course includes discussion of real incidents that some participants may find distressing. Participants will be informed before sensitive material is presented. Bring this training to your organization. Contact 1st Source Defense, LLC to discuss a session for your team or community group.
